PostDeck Privacy Policy

PostDeck is a social-post planner for Windows. This policy explains what it stores and where that information goes.

What PostDeck stores

Only what you put into it:

  • your posts, drafts, ideas, hashtag sets and recurring slots;
  • images and videos you attach (copied into PostDeck's own folder);
  • your channels (for example "LinkedIn ยท Company page"), your Mastodon server name and default subreddit;
  • when each post is scheduled and whether you marked it posted or skipped, with an optional link to the published post;
  • your settings.

PostDeck does not sign in to any social platform, does not ask for passwords, and does not read anything from your accounts.

Where it is stored

Everything is stored on your PC, inside the app's own package data folder. You can back it up to a single file, restore it, export your schedule, remove unused media, or delete everything by uninstalling the app.

What leaves your PC

Nothing you write. PostDeck has no servers, no account and no analytics or telemetry.

PostDeck connects to the internet only in these cases:

  • Purchase check. Windows checks with the Microsoft Store that your Microsoft account owns the app. This is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • AI model download (optional). If you choose to use the AI suggestions, PostDeck downloads the model file once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is an ordinary file download; none of your text is sent. The AI then runs entirely on your PC.
  • Opening a platform. When you click "Open X", "Open LinkedIn" and so on, PostDeck opens that platform's compose page in your web browser. For platforms that support it (X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit) the text of that post is placed in the page link so it appears pre-filled. What happens on that website is governed by that platform's own privacy policy. Nothing is posted until you press Post yourself.

Share cards, exports and backups are files or images that you create and choose to save, copy or send.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled with Windows on your PC. Their text (the platform names, time and the first line of the post) is handled by Windows' notification system on your device.

Children

PostDeck is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published with an updated effective date.
